Clement & Foster Alien Plants taxa

by AndyAmphlett » Fri Sep 22, 2017 8:16 am

Hi Tom,

does the DDb taxonomic dictionary include all the entries in Clement, E.J. and Foster, M.C. (1994). Alien plants of the British Isles?

Thanks,

Andy.

Hi Andy,

I'm not sure, but I suspect probably not systematically, although most may be covered.

The DDb's lists are an amalgum of the BSBI's 'Leicester' taxonomy database combined with BRC's taxon dictionary and then subsequently revised and added to as needed.

If new names are needed for occurrence records then I'm generally happy to add them (with minor caveats that names must be validly published and likely to be used for occurrences in the wild in the British Isles).

regards,

Tom

Thanks Tom,

from this page - http://rbg-web2.rbge.org.uk/BSBI/intro.php - which I think is the old 'Leicester' database, all the taxa from Clement & Foster and the subsequent book on alien grasses are included, so will be in the DDb.
