Incorrect altitudes from query

by AndyAmphlett » Mon Feb 03, 2014 8:49 am

Hi,

I ran a query to find taxa recorded at or above 1300m altitude (so should be just taxa around summits of highest mountains in Scotland). link to query is here:

http://bsbidb.org.uk/search.php#applyqu ... esearch%3E

Several records returned by query are incorrect. If you check the grid ref, it is from a much lower altitude site, though some are correct.

Sorry, should have checked first. Source of error is not in the query, it is in the actual records. The query looked for recorded or inferred altitude. In some of these cases the recorded altitude is wrong. eg there is a record for Andromeda polifolia from vc72, with a recorded altitude of 1478m (impossible). Mind you this is another way to search for odd looking records that may need editing or questioning.
