Tom,

Queries using, and the map for, the genus Philadelphus, do not return / plot records of Philadelphus group 'Virginalis Group' or of Philadelphus group 'Lemoinei Group'.

Both taxa are listed under the genus name - https://database.bsbi.org/search.php#re ... 10f79009a5 - so I am puzzled why queries don't return them, and records are missing from maps.

Thanks. I'll investigate this.

There are various short-cut optimisations applied to searches to avoid inefficient traversal of deep taxon hierarchies. It sounds as though the optimisation for a genus-level search is failing to consider taxa at 'group' level.

A search that explicitly includes the overlooked clades works correctly - but is obviously not a proper solution:
