Diversity maps for VC

I understand that the maps (in the maps tab) may work better than maps directly from searches, where the searches yield more than 50,000 records. However, what is the best approach for mapping Atlas coverage (for example). I might search for all records since 2000 for a county, and in some cases this gives a lot more than 50,000. But I only want to map them - and possibly search from that map. It looks like it is about right, but gives me a warning that the records may have been capped at 50,000. Do I have to group by tetrad for distinct taxon, and then map that? Actually, I've just tried it and it works fine - and also (which I didn't think it would) if you click on a tetrad you get a link to the original records.

I think I've answered my own question - but will post it in case it is helpful to anyone!
