How to search for agg. records only

by AndyAmphlett » Sat Nov 29, 2014 6:53 pm

Tom,

how do I search for records of, for example, Taraxacum agg., without the query also returning records of all the Taraxacum micro-species? It would be similarly useful to be able just show Hieracium agg. records, not records that have been identified down to micro-species level.

Thanks,

Andy.

Although the query becomes a bit clumsy, a search for 'Hieracium agg.' records only (without subgroups) can be set up by joining a record search with a taxon search. The taxon search options allow the 'agg.' qualifier to be set explicitly, it's also necessary to untick the 'include subdivisions' option (otherwise taxa such as 'Hieracium flocculosum agg.' also get through).

Thanks Tom. This is especially useful for folk wanting to validate / verify records of taxa commonly recorded as agg..
